Premiér UK Boris Johnson zúfalo hľadá riešenia na boj proti pandémii Covid-19. V krajine už zaviedol tvrdý lockdown, no zdá sa, že zatiaľ sa mu nepodarilo zastaviť novú formu koronavírusu, ktorá stále vyčíňa na Britských ostrovoch. Zmutovaná verzia vírusu je infejčnejšia a ľahšie sa šíri, preto podľa Johnsona nákaza prichádza z kontinentálnej Európy, ktorá je príliš blízko UK.
Johnson preto navrhol, aby bola Veľká Británia odtiahnutá 900 až 1000 kilometrov ďalej do Atlantického oceánu, tzv. prehĺbený Brexit. Bude to podľa neho veľká technologická výzva, ale nie je to niečo, čo by tamojší inžinieri nezvládli. Britské ostrovy budú pripojené k obrovským trajektom, ktoré chodom motorov zabezpečia, že Veľká Británia sa nepohne z miesta, keď sa zvyšok Zeme bude otáčať. Briti počkajú, kým rotácia Zeme „odtiahne“ Britské ostrovy ďalej od Európy a vtedy trajekty odpoja.
Johnson je presvedčený, že hneď ako sa UK vzdiali od Európy, nákaza by mala zmiznúť. Briti sa zatiaľ nedohodli, kto Johnsonovi povie, že aj po odtiahnutí ďalej do mora budú mať v susedstve štát EÚ – Írsko.
